The Independent Ink Manifesto
Traditional publishing and social platforms rely on invasive advertising networks. To keep advertisers happy, platforms are forced to adopt strict "Brand Safety" guidelines.
Brand Safety always leads to censorship. It starts with banning illegal content, but inevitably creeps into suppressing controversial ideas, mature themes, and independent thought.
To guarantee zero censorship for writers and readers, we must reject the traditional advertising model. We cannot serve two masters. We serve you.
Phase 1: Observation Mode
Instead of tracking who you are or what you read, we only track Usage Time. This is a transparent, opt-in value exchange designed to respect your focus.
We are currently in Observation Mode. We are gathering anonymized aggregate data on average session lengths. We will use this data to set fair usage limits that cover our server costs.
There are no paywalls or limits enforced right now. We are simply testing the infrastructure and ensuring it is perfectly accurate.
How the Tracking Works
Active Heartbeat
We only count time when you are actively interacting with the platform (scrolling, clicking, typing). If you step away, the timer stops.
Tab Visibility
Our tracker uses the browser's native Visibility API. If you switch tabs or minimize the browser, tracking pauses instantly. We never track in the background.
Idle Timeout
If no activity is detected for 2 minutes, we automatically pause tracking to prevent "idle drain" on your total usage statistics.
The Future: A Fair Value Exchange
Once we have sufficient data, we will activate the value-exchange system. Our goal is to provide a clean, ad-free environment for content consumption.

Ads will never interrupt your reading or writing. You will only ever see an ad if you explicitly click "Watch Ad to Earn Time" on this support page.
